The best advice I have ever given Anyone about New Year's eve in Las Vegas is DO NOT commit to anything that takes the whole night. Give Yourself options as the night goes. There are often parties that seem too good to be true and they typically are. If they seem so good, chances are they will be too crowded for You to enjoy the perks that were offered. There are plenty of night clubs that will be so crowded You will find it difficult to get a drink or even to make it to the restrooms.
Free in Las Vegas on New Year's Eve
All the free stuff is still free on New Years Eve in Vegas. But in addition to the usually free stuff there will be fireworks on the Las Vegas Strip along with live entertainment at stages along the Las Vegas Strip. The Las Vegas Strip will be closed off to vehicle traffic around nightfall and open up early in the morning New Years Day. The streets will become packed with party goers but You will still find it easy to move up and down the street. If You want to move blocks at a time, use the monorail, it will be open all night.
